Our story begins in 1959 when Sam Rosenberg, having experienced a few failed start-ups earlier in his adulthood but finding great success as a traveling salesman of general merchandise in the 1950s, decided to start his own business before retirement. At the young age of 59, he established the S. Rosenberg Christmas Company, importing Christmas and Easter novelties and dolls from Japan.

In April 1963, Sam's son-in-law, Stanley Geller, purchased the business and renamed it Funworld, Easter Unlimited. Stanley traveled to Japan by propeller planes on buying trips, developing strong relationships with factories there. He then sold the goods by traveling the roads of the USA in a station wagon filled with samples, going from Minneapolis to Miami, Boston to Bentonville, New York to New Orleans and everywhere in between. It was a tough but rewarding journey, and the business continued to grow with the help of many people.

In 1981, the third generation joined the company. Alan Geller, Stanley's son, gave Funworld a real jump start in Halloween, leading the company during the growth of the Halloween business.
